This unit bundles student expectations that address connections between algebra and geometry. Coordinate systems are used for geometric explorations of distance, midpoint, slope, and parallel and perpendicular lines. Geometric conjectures are tested developing an awareness of the connections between algebra and geometry.
Finding SlopeStudents will learn how to find the slope of a line given a graph, equation, and two points.
Finding Y-InterceptStudents will learn to find the y intercept given an equation and graph.
Graphing Slope Intercept FormStudents will learn to graph slope intercept form.
Forms of Linear EquationsStudent will learn about slope intercept, standard, and point slope form of a linear equations.
Linear Equations - Given Slope and Y-InterceptStudents will learn to write slope intercept and standard form of a linear equation given the slope and y-intercept.
Linear Equations - Given Point and SlopeStudents will learn to write slope intercept and standard form of a linear equation given the slope and a point.
Linear Equations - Given Two PointsStudents will learn to write slope intercept and standard form of a linear equation given two points.
Midpoint FormulaStudents will learn to find the midpoint of a line segment using the midpoint formula.
Distance FormulaStudent will learn to find the distance between to points using the distance formula.
Quadratics (General Form)Students will learn to identify key parts of a quadratic such as: vertex, axis of symmetry, y-intercepts, and x-intercepts.
