Conic Sections

This unit bundles student expectations that address conic sections including conic sections as the intersection of cones and a plane, representations and characteristics defining each conic section, and completing the square to convert between general and standard (working) form of the equations of conic sections. This unit also further addresses applications of conic sections in a given scenario and systems involving conic sections.

Graphing Circles

Students will learn to graph circles given an equation.

Writing Equation of Circle

Students willl learn how to write an equation of a circle given a graph.

Graphing Ellipses

Students will learn to graph ellipses given an equation.

Writing Equation of Ellipses

Students will learn to write the equation of an ellipse given a graph.

Ellipses (Major and Minor Axis)

Students will learn to find the major and minor axis of an ellipse.

Ellipses (Finding Foci)

Students will learn to find the foci of an ellipse.
